初,seed
“bright room” and “dark room” installation, as well as the film with the same title
Seed, was created during the 2024 Guandu International Nature Art Festival. The title reflects my aspirations for my creation, maintaining openness and welcoming possibilities and potentials, growing slowly like a seed.
Capturing images using 16mm black-and-white film becomes an exploration and reflection on nature. Through microscopic observation and the slow capturing of moments, I re-examine the relationship between humans and nature.
Opposing natural phenomena also reflect the principles of change in all things: the interplay of yin and yang, advancement and retreat, rise and fall, creation and deconstruction.
Using deep listening and forest bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) as practices, I created installations of both a 'light room' and a 'dark room,' along with a film work of the same name, to connect the inner and outer realms of self and nature.

Light, both abstract and concrete, is a vital energy in the ecological environment. Using 16mm black-and-white film, I capture nature from a microscopic perspective, slowly seizing moments, and connecting all senses with nature. I let my body guide me—listening to nature, linking the inner and outer worlds of nature. It’s not about reaching a destination, but about establishing a deeper connection with nature.
The images are created from the exposure process—a moment of encountering light. I use environmentally friendly developers made from natural ingredients to develop the latent images on the film. Inspired by natural states, I observe the "nature of nature. " I connect with nature by recording sounds at sunrise and sunset and coating light-sensitive emulsions on film and screens during the new moon and full moon. The park, free of light pollution, transforms into an open-air darkroom.
Every aspect of this process becomes an element of creative thought and possibility.

光,既抽象也具象,是生態環境中重要的能量;
Bright Room
During the creative process, I use 16mm black-and-white film, observing and recording from a microscopic perspective. I work slowly by making an environmentally friendly developer from coffee grounds, tea leaves, or fallen leaves from the park.
In this bright room, this quiet space records traces of light and the path of the sun.
16mm negatives hang by the window, where you can use a magnifying glass to peer at each frame, each moment.
The images of light and shadow on the walls and floor capture fleeting moments of sunrise. A layer of light-sensitive emulsion is painted on a wooden screen, gradually exposed over time, with colors changing slowly since the full moon. The 16mm film was projected here on the opening day of the exhibition, the Autumn Equinox.
待的越久,你會發現你能看到的越多;

Dark Room
The dark room is inspired by the "camera obscura," a natural phenomenon where light passing through a small hole projects an image.
When you enter this dark room, you'll find the original bench from the observation pavilion
in front of you and see five small holes.
It is recommended that you sit down and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. As you relax, images will gradually appear, surrounding you. You are becoming a part of images. These images are projections of the outside world, inverted through the pinhole effect.
After your eyes fully adapt to the darkness; The longer you stay, the more you can see;
What you see each time will vary depending on the sun's position. If you return at different times, you will experience different projections.
